Midnight is where the day begins. When life seems dark, Christ is present. When creation was mired in sin, Christ brings light. We wait for the light of salvation and it comes even though it is dark.

Advent is a time of expectation and waiting. It’s also a time of being aware of the times we are living in and longing for the coming of God. But the coming of God is going to be upsetting because it will turn things around.
