Preparing for Sunday | May 29, 2022

Here is this week’s episode of Preparing for Sunday. We look at the famous text for Pentecost Sunday, Acts 2:1-21.

What must I do to be saved?

That was the question the Phillipian jailer had after witnessing a miracle. Paul and Silas were placed in prison and an earthquake shook the building so much that the cell doors opened and the shackles fell off. He was certain everyone had fled and now he was going to lose his life (talk about a brutal job evaluation!). But instead, he encounters a miracle and ask questions about salvation. What must we do to be saved?

Preparing for Sunday is a resource for clergy and the laity to get ready for the upcoming Sunday using a text from the Revised Common Lectionary. This week's text is from John Acts 16:16-34.
