Community Minister
This new position is a one-year pilot project that seeks to foster and empower:
Community relationships within First Christian and
Engage the wider community outside our church through relationships.
In collaboration with the Pastor, this position will give leadership and encouragement to help First Christian St Paul live into the vision of a thriving faith community and an engaged Christ-like presence in Roseville.
Duties:
Revive and grow congregational care and missional outreach within the congregation.
Engage and connect with internal and external communities through First Christian’s social media platforms;
Engage with the surrounding neighborhood, by meeting with community agencies, local government and individuals.
Occasional preaching and participation in worship.
Requirements:
Willingness to understand the tradition of the Disciples of Christ.
Ability to represent the Church and the Disciples of Christ tradition honorably
A self-starter with the ability to think creatively and strategically;
Ability to work with all age groups, from children and youth to seniors;
Ability to build partnerships and lead volunteers effectively; and
Administrative and organizational skills;
Experience in working with or participating in different community groups will be an asset.
Term: This is a part-time, contract position for a 1-year pilot project and requires a minimum 1-year commitment from the successful candidate. Consideration for renewal or extension of the contract term will be given prior to the end of the initial term. Ordination is not necessary.
Hours: Part-time, 15-18 hours per week.
